Meal Services

FOOD:

Delivery:

The food will be delivered by our volunteers to the Clients in Calvert County, Monday through Friday, except for the following holidays: New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. (which are announced in advance) During inclement weather, listen to your local radio stations, FM 97.7, 98.3, and 102.9 for an announcement regarding non-delivery of meals.

 Menu:

 The following menu choices are available:

  • regular diet

  • special diet appropriate for mild diabetics

  • soft diet ( food is chopped or ground)

Each diet provides at least one third of the recommended daily requirements for adults.

 

ELIGIBILITY AND COST:

Interview:

Clients may be accepted after a visit by a Meals on Wheels volunteer. This interview is to establish eligibility and to acquaint the prospective Client with our service.

Referrals may be called in to the Office on Aging at 410-535-4606 or 301-855-1170 by anyone who knows of someone in need of this service!!

 Cost:

This service is provided for the homebound, regardless of their ability to pay. Participants are expected to make a contribution based on their ability to pay.

 

►    Twenty-four (24) hours notice is required for cancellation of a meal, or the service itself.
